TIPS AND REMINDERS FOR SEARCHING THE LIBRARY CATALOG AND ONLINE DATABASES
-
There are many different ways to search the catalog or a database. You may search with a title, author, keyword, source type (i.e. books, journal articles, DVD), etc.
-
The call number is the unique series of letters and numbers listed on a book or other item (usually the book's spine) which tell you where to find the item on the shelf.
-
If the item is an electronic resource (i.e. ebook), the library catalog will have a yellow button with the phrase "Access online." Click this button to access the resource.
-
If the item is a journal article, book, etc. from an online database, click the yellow "Find it" button to get access to the full-text or full record, if available. The full-text option will not be available for every resource in every database.
